Occupational therapy (OT)
is an allied health profession that helps people of all ages to
participate in activities that are meaningful and important to them. OT can help children with
various challenges or disabilities to improve their cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills, as
well as their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment. OT can also help children to develop,
maintain, or restore their ability to perform daily tasks, such as dressing, eating, writing, or
playing. OT can also provide guidance and support to parents, teachers, and caregivers on how
to best assist their children in achieving their goals. Brighter Future Academy works with
occupational therapist Damiris Ranger, who provides individual and group sessions to our kids.
She also collaborates with the other professionals and staff to ensure a holistic and integrated
approach to our students’ needs.
Micky’s Foundation
Micky’s Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides specialized therapy for children
with physical or mental limitations. Micky’s Foundation provides some of our kids with physical
therapy free of charge.
Health Psychologist (G.Z Psychology)
A health psychologist provides diagnosis, assessments, and therapy to our kids and families. We
have a contract with a health psychologist, Adeline Rasmijn.
